Flick has joined MPs from across the House of Commons to form a new Parliamentary group on the State Pension Age. The new group will support those women hit by the acceleration of the equalisation of the State Pension Age, first in 1995 and then in 2011.
The student council from the school in St Simon’s Road, Southsea, were able to see "behind the scenes" before meeting with Flick for a round table discussion about her work in Parliament and in Portsmouth.
MPs heard that the disease kills more children and adults under 40 than any other cancer. But despite the death toll, just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to the devastating disease since 2002.
