You will be pleased to know that I agree and have signed the amendment. Like you, I have met several children and adults who were born prematurely, as early as 22 weeks, and we need to protect premature babies that can survive. I was among the first to endorse Caroline Ansell’s amendment NC15, which seeks to reduce the upper limit for abortion to 22 weeks. Given the medical advances we have witnessed, I firmly believe this would be the right step forward.
I will be voting against the New Clause by Dame Diana Johnson MP and others to legalize abortion up to term.
