Congratulations to Hampshire County Council after 2019 GCSE performance statistics show the county’s pupils continue to perform better than their peers nationally at the end of Year 11.
68.4 per cent of pupils taking the exams achieved a pass at grade 4 in English and mathematics, compared to 66.7 per cent last year and a national average of 64.9 per cent.
The ‘attainment 8’ outcome, which measures the results across the wider curriculum, has also improved from a score of 47.2 in 2018 to 47.6 in 2019, comfortably above the national average of 46.8.
“I’m delighted with these results which shows the county council is doing a great job raising standards across Hampshire,” said Flick.
